Maggie Chen


Maggie established Hantong Bilingual Services in March, 2008, with a mission of providing quality English/Chinese translation services to clients from the legal, financial, healthcare, real estate, IT and advertising industries. Through careful selection, Maggie has built a strong team of linguists at Hantong, solidifying position as a leading language services provider Mandarin translator in Singapore.

A Computer Science graduate of the National University of Singapore, Maggie started her career in translation as an in-Chinese translator. During her tenure in this position, she undertook many important translation projects in business, finance, IT and law.

This in-house experience, combined with her subsequent endeavours as director of Hantong, has given Maggie extensive experience English and Mandarin translation, and a deep understanding of the multi-faceted translation needs of companies and individuals. She has worked on documents from firms including Deutsche Bank AG, Bank of Singapore, IBM, Discovery Communications and Keppel Corporation.

As Hantong’s director, Maggie guarantees high-quality work that is delivered on-time. Maggie maintains an unwavering, meticulous commitment to excellence in all aspects of language activity, and remains personally involved with Hantong clients on a day to day basis

Linda Pan 

Senior Linguist

Born in Guangdong Province, China, Linda is a Chinese translator with more than six years of English and Mandarin translation experience. In addition to financial and corporate documents, Linda also specializes in handling translation projects in fields including healthcare, energy, tourism, law and education. Linda earned her B.A. degree in English from the prestigious Sun Yet-sen University.

Linda strives for excellence in all aspects of her work, and believes in producing translations which are clear and precise. She has helped clients across the world communicate with their business partners, employees, and the public in an effective and easy to understand manner, and takes great pride in facilitating such cross-cultural communication.

Mandarin translator Linda strongly believes in the importance of research. She conducts thorough research during each translation project she works on to understand her client’s needs and to ensure her clients receive the accurate translation results they desire.

Alan Chong

Senior Linguist

A former journalist (Bilingual Desk) of The Straits Times, Alan has more than 20 years of experience English Chinese translator. He specializes in the translation of business, legal, financial, educational and official documents.

Chinese translation services is not merely a profession for Alan but also a great passion, as evidenced by the numerous publications he has authored and translated. In addition to translation, Alan has also expanded his linguistic abilities greatly through his work in proofreading, subtitling and editing. 

His published works include:
  • Co-author (English and Chinese versions) of the autobiography of Lim Goh Tong, founder of Genting Group
  • Goh Chok Tong, Singapore’s New Premier, the first book released on Mr. Goh following his assumption of the office of prime minister of Singapore after the resignation of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew
